Repair or replace? That is the question.

Hey guys, new to the forum here and glad to be a part of it.

A buddy of mine recently dropped off a whole intro level setup at my house for me to "store" (possibly indefinitely). Damn right I hooked it all up and am currently enjoying it but I certainly have a few questions.

Current setup: aside from my rather large selection of vintage and newer turntables and vinyl accessories, I will cover what my friend left here. The amp is a Kenwood KA-501 (Solid State, 80's I presume) that seems to work great minus needing a few jiggles and taps every now and then to keep both sides working. In the front of the room is a pair of Dahlton Loudspeakers the are free standing and are about 3.5 feet tall (multiple speakers under grilles). In the back of the room I have run wires under my floor to a pair of mystery cabinets each with a 15" woofer and a 5" smaller speaker (cab is ported nicely).

The whole setup sounds fairly decent and is great for entertaining at parties. I made an offer to my friend to buy the larger mystery cabs in the back and he said he was willing to sell. This brings me to my first question.

The surrounds of the 15" woofers in these cabs are both really bad. I pulled one and the back says it is a "acoustics USA NWX-1544" which from what I can tell is a piece made by Nippon (Car subwoofers?) the smaller speakers are also pretty rough and are RoadGear RGSP54. Definitely car speakers. I am going to replace the 5" speakers but i am unsure of what to do with the 15" woofers. Should I replace the surrounds and pop them back in or would it be a better idea to replace the woofers with one that are designed for a house? I am not too worried about sound quality as these are mainly used for house party shenanigans. I'm leaning towards just replacing the surrounds for price and because the woofers are in otherwise great shape. If I go that route, where do you guys recommend getting replacement surround for mystery 15" woofers?

Second question. What's the scoop on Dahlton Loudspeakers? They sound good, and I am interested in buying them from my friend, however, I have no idea what they are worth. A ballpark figure would be great.

I will most likely be getting a newer amp to power everything that is mine in the future and giving his back.

Thanks guys!

Get a couple 15 inch Pyle drivers and put in a mid range speaker, cut a hole for a horn for the high frequency and get a crossover for the mid at 2000 hz and 300 hz and give the speakers sufficient mojo juice and bobs your aunt or uncle choice is yours.

Actually after submitting my first post I was playing with them and had the cabs running only (channel B) and using the balance knob with the 5" and the 15" removed I discorvered that there is in fact a tweeter behind what I thought was a port in the top so the high range is good to go!
