It's like when you're dating and a new girl comes along. Both are excellent subs. The Axiom has a very clean sound and integrated very well with my other loudspeakers without EQ. Over time, I felt it lacked a little on the low end to the point where I was considering some tactile transducers (Buttkickers). The velo with that 18" woofer moves a lot of air and in my large space that makes a difference. Having both would be nice but space/waf issues made that impractical. I'm relatively new to this hobby and for me the process is all trial and error. Also, I'm convinced that listening to these things in-home is the only way to truly evaluate them. I'm very thankful for this site and Audiogon as a way to discuss and recycle components with other folks who are afflicted with this disease. Hey Ron, how's the 15 eval going? My heads about to explode from all the listening we did today. Bit off way more than I could chew. The Velo is an amazing sub, but then so's the SVS 20-39+, luckily I don't get to choose.
