Remote Control Unit

Had a very brief power outage while listening to my Denon DRA-697CI receiver. Turned receiver back on when power was restored but my remote control unit would not function, even with new batteries. Whenever I try to use the remote the receiver reads " Remote Lock ON". Read the operating instructions book and have no idea how to fix this. Even tried unplugging and plugging the receiver back in. Did not work. Help!

Turn off receiver using the power button. Hold down the speaker A and B button and turn the unit back on.

or this

turn power off, press and hold speaker b and mode at the same time while turning unit on.

You'll probably have to do a system reset. The procedure for most receivers is shown on the back page of the manual.

'Remote Lock ON' sounds like the remote can use multiple IDs (so you can control multiple devices that respond to the same codes) and maybe after the power outage the remote ID the remote uses now differs from what the receiver is expecting.
