Remote control problems

Hi,

My 1 year old Yamaha RXV1500 seems to give problems with the remote control. I was able to turn on the receiver with it but a few minutes later, it stopped working altogether since yesterday! It happened a couple of months back also, one morning, but somehow was ok by that evening, without me having to do anything.

Did anyone here have any such problems? I am not sure if this is a problem with the battery! How long do they usually last for? Had no complaints about the receiver except for this one now!

Try changing the battery and let us know. That is what it sounds like.

well the first thing i would try is changing the batteries, sometimes its just that obvious.... if not that then bang it a couples of times, always works for me

Yes, I was planning to change the batteries this evening anyway!

The reason I am worried is because the display on it went off abruptly and not after gradual fading... Already tried banging it a few times.. but that didn't help!

Will let you guys know once I change the batteries!

If you're using the batteries that came in the box, they are frequently old and not carrying much of a charge, and tend to die quick. Could be as simple as that. Worst case, it's a bad board/loose connection to the battery inside that might be easily fixed.

I had something similar happen last night with my TV remote. It just decided not to work for a few minutes, then it was OK ever since. I changed the batteries a few days ago when it seemed like they were dead.

OK guys, I replaced the new batteries and everything is fine now! Appreciate your help!

Now that I changed the batteries, I observed that the volume doesn't change as fast as it used to do before. It decreases or increases like about 1 DB per second
