I completed a rather easy project to refurbish my buddies old JL W6's. As you can see the color and brittleness is really sad. This is what happens when you leave your subs in the back of a hatchback for 4+ years. They were disconnected for 2+ years, but I bet if they were turned on in a sealed box the foam would of popped in no time. Anyway, even though this is a relatively straight forward process I wanted to post my pics b/c the instructions 'require' you to remove the dust cap in order to do this properly (the kit provides shims to raise the cone). I was very hesitant to do the refurbish b/c I didn't want to scrape off the dust cap and scratch the whole thing up and/or tear it apart and have to replace it with a crappy bland cap. If you don't want to remove the dust cap, simply raising the cone above the frame will allow to glue the foam to the cone. I did this with some spare pieces of wood... Overall, they turned out great. Now, since annuaki convinced me not to use them for HT, what the h do i do with them...
