recommended preamp for home theatre

I am considering moving my denon x4200w that i am using as a preamp only to a different room. Then i could upgrade my main home theatre preamp. It is a 7.1.2 setup, amps are 5ch marantz and 5ch emotiva, speakers and sw are the largest of the monitor audio gold series. i need dts x and atmos and of course 9 or 11 channel.

For a new preamp I was looking at marantz or anthem avm 60.
Any other suggestions?
Will i actually see much improvement over the denon 4200?

With the same speakers and room very doubtful but can be very hard to actually compare properly let alone extricate yourself from expectation bias, too. On the other hand always nice to start another system in another room with the gear left over after upgrading

ps I'm not talking about different processing results as to which you might prefer (hard to say what is "better"....)
