It did not include stands or shipping, you're correct. It did include a receiver and cd/dvd player, though. It would behoove you to know what you're talking about.

I am new to this, so I could be wrong. But isn't it better to buy all of the speakers and sub from the same place instead of buying them from different manufacturers? I imagine that if they are made by the same manufacturer they work better together... ?

All of the speakers I recommended were made by the same manufacturer. The sub doesn't have to be, but it ended-up that way. I sent different links due to the price. That is the best way to get the best deal. Also, all of the links I gave you are authorized to sell with a full warranty.

I'm curious... I think I'd go for the upgraded speakers (340's vs 170's) and spend a little bit less on a receiver. Why did you go for the 170's, particularly as a center channel?

If you can wait until mid-summer or fall, don't overlook the SVS middle line (MTS-01). I've been in contact with Ron and he has some great things in store for everyone. (P.S. This would be aplicable if you had a 3k budget, not 2k)

Has to do with timber matching/cancellation issues of a MTM design. Plus cost..

Not in all aspects, but there is an issue regarding MTM desgins.
