Looking for a surround pre/amp combo for a home theater setup. It will be used about 80% for movies & 20% for music. I have a budget of $14K for 3 LCR InWalls, 4 side&rear InCeiling & 2 InWall subs with 1 amp & the surround pre/amp combo(needs to have XLR & two HDMI monitor outputs). The room is about 20'x21'. Please fire away your recommandations...Thanks!

+1 on the Integra 80.1/Onkyo Pro 5507 w/ Emotiva XPA-2/5

I'm looking at moving to the Integra 80.1 myself.

Are we talking about $14,000 US Dollar here?:D

And are you in the US?

If so, I would second the Integra DHC-80.1 pre-pro. That looks like an awesome pre-pro that has measured specs to rival any company out there including Denon, Lexicon, Cary Audio, Anthem, etc.!

But for amps, I would go for something like ATI, Parasound, Sunfire, Adcom, etc.

An example is this ATI AT3007 (300WPC x 7) amp:

http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?ampstran&1279899747

It's practically brand new w/ 7 yrs USA warranty. The asking price is $2800, but you can most likely get it for $300 off = $2,500. Retail is $5,000 USD.

Or a AT2007 amp (200WPC x 7) - almost brand new/7 yr warranty:
http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?ampsmult&1279041736

Asking price is $2100, but you can probably get it for $1800-$1900.

Emotiva is fine too, but I PERSONALLY don't think they LOOK as great. :D

ATI-Killer amps. I consider them the next level. Not your standard run of the mill amps.

I have to admit that seems like one juicy-mouth-watering pre-pro.:D

It's gotta be hands down the ultimate bang-for-the-buck pre-pro!

But you gotta also think that by 2011, they will have a HDMI1.4a Integra pre-pro!!!:D

Any other recommendations? I have never heard of ATI amps. What speakers brand would I use? I posted the types I am looking for in my first post. Thanks...
