recommendation for new center speakers?

I've just hooked up my HTPC to an old sony ta av521 amplifier, and am running sound off of it.
I plan to gradually add parts to this system (right now I only have 2 old sony freestanding 270W speakers) for 5.1 sound. I may replace the amp someday.
First piece I want to get is a center speaker. I want to get something orientated for the future, so I can build around it. I've heard one should stick with the same brand (Sony?) and the same series for good sound. My amp is rated at 135 watts per channel, and I am wondering if this is plenty of power for a normal livingroom if I decide to replace the old amp. My price range is $100 to $200
Any recommends?

It has nothing to do with brand, it has to do with the speakers themselves. You will want a center that is from the same family/line of speakers. I would not recommend Sony for speakers. They do make some decent ones, but they aren't consistent and their speaker lines change constantly, not to mention their lower end stuff isn't that great. Pretty much, go to local shops and listen to the speakers in your range to see what you like.

These and their big brothers the 9s are said to excellent Sony speakers...hard to find though.
