Hi,

I've been looking into AV Receivers recently and think i'm going to go for the RX-V2600. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with the following recommended speakers (I can't seem to find any reviews or information anywhere):
- Front NS-525F
- Center NS-C525
- Surround NS-M525
- Surround Back NS-M525
- Subwoofer YST-SW515

Details were found here:
http://www.yamaha.co.jp/english/product/av/products/ht/rxv2600.html

Many thanks.

Thanks for the replies. I'll be sure to check out the brands mentioned. I believe I'll have a budget of around $2000 (approx £1000).

Once I have a couple on the short list I'll be arranging in store demos with a couple of my own CDs/DVDs. How much does it matter that i'll be listening to speakers powered by AV Receivers that i'm not buying? Is it likely that the sound would vary once wired into a RX-V2600? Obviously I can test the Yamaha speakers with the Yamaha Receiver in store.

Thanks.

If that means you are in the UK, I'd look at Mordaunt Short, B&W, and Monitor Audio.

If it helps i'm actually in Dubai, UAE.

I will look into those possibilities also though, thanks.

it could, but probably not...most people say yamahas are bright, but it doesn't sound it to me...they sound pretty neutral and accurate to me...i'll never own anything else but yamaha, except their speakers....not my taste

I think you'll enjoy that Yammie. I love mine. Many good speakers can be had for your budget. You just need to get out and listen to as many of them as you can before you decide what to buy. Take a CD or two with you of your favorite songs. Everyone seems to have different tastes when it comes to speakers. Let your ears decide. But I would agree that Yamaha's speakers are not the best. It's not their bread & butter.
