$1500 is about the entry point to good quality so I'll toss out few options. But since all I have to go by is a price and a TV the suggestions will need to be refined. For example without room size it's impossible to size a subwoofer. Second just based on TV and PS3 I'm assuming it's for movies more than music. Third I'm guessing your XBR4 does not support 3D.
Almost all in one solutions:
Option 1
A
SVSounds SBS-2 Deluxe 5.1 speaker system ($1150) should do fine in a medium sized room. Upgrading the surrounds to the SSS-2 surround speakers ($150 option) would be a nice touch but takes you over budget.
Option 2
Hsu Research's
Enthusiast 2 speaker package should do fine in a medium sized room but is slightly over budget at $1250 and up depending on finish.
The really good put it together yourself medium-large room option:
2x Infinity Primus
P362 towers ($400/pr)
1x Infinity Primus
PC350 center ($200)
2x Infinity Primus
P152 boonkshelves for use as surrounds ($150/pr)
That's $750 of your budget. For the subwoofer the best thing to do is contact Elemental Designs, Hsu Research, and SVSound and have them size a sub to your room. If necessary you can hold off on the surrounds and use that money to buy enough subwoofer.
Receiver
I don't believe your TV supports 3D so last year's Onkyo TX-SR707 receiver would be a great match to any of the above. If you're in the US you can buy factory refurbished for $400 from Accessories For Less - however if I guessed wrong about 3D and you want 3D support then you'll want the newer TX-NR708 at about 50% more money.
Cables
Cables and speaker wire are cheap at Monoprice.com.
