Recommend a Surround Preamp/Processor with XLR

Hi, I'm new here and glad to find you.

I'm looking for a CHEAPER Preamplifier/Processor/Whatever that will:

1) inputs at least 2 stereo RCA sources,

2) outputs at least 2 XLR lines (stereo) and 1 XLR subwoofer (I'm assuming that any device that does this will have the full 7.1 output, which is fine if that's my only option--but I'd love to not have to spend money for something I don't need),

3) has a master volume.

I have an Onkyo Professional 885. You can find them for under 1,000 now that the 886 came out with a higher price and not many new features. I think that is the best buy right now. Integra makes a unit that is basically the same as the Onkyo Pro (or vice versa).

Your other option would be to get a two channel mixer with XLR outputs.

I don't want to use a mixer since I want the surround sound to be "officially" mixed (and not my own mix).

Do you actually need processing/switching of a 7 channel source as well or just stereo?

7 channel options will be limited, 2 channel with XLR are pretty common.

NuForce AVP-17 (XLR outputs for front channels and sub)

I'm interested in all four recommendations:

Onkyo Professional 885
Denon DN-A7100

NuForce AVP-17

I've never heard of Outlaw or NuForce. How do they compare with each other and the Onyko, Denon?

Where do you recommend purchasing them?

My regional Onkyo Professional dealer. A member on here bought it for under 1,000 from Accessories4less.com recently too, but when I searched for it I didn't see it on their website (whereas I did when I saw the post about it), so they may have sold out.

Now that I search around the prices seem to have raised a few hundred dollars, because I think people were just going crazy for the 885 when the 886 came out. Maybe someone else will be able to fill us in on this better?
