Recomendations needed for a compact Center Channel Speaker

I need a shielded center channel speaker thats less that 12 inches wide if I want to put it into the cabinet directly beneath my (CRT) TV. Height not as much an issue. Or, is it ok to stand the center channel up verically. Is it OK to put it on top of the TV. I know there's a dialog lift on my setup, but not a dialog lower!

can a CC speaker be put on top of the TV? yes, it can. I would recommend trying to angle it so that the front of the speaker faces towards the seating area though.

Def Techs Pro Cinema 60 center chan is only 10.5 inches wide, and sounds good. But I am 99% sure that you will have to special order that speaker if you do not want the whole set. They come as a 5.1 system. But a Def Tech dealer should be able to get you one.
