I'm looking to find a decent receiver for a new set up. I am thinking that I am going to be starting out with 5.1 channels, but am not sure if I should be keeping the option open to making it into a 7.1 channel system later on (working on the speakers also right now). Also am trying to figure out what receiver would be the best option for the money. I only have about $350 to spend for it (not sure if that is enough for a good one though). I have looked at an Onkyo SR680, but not set on it. Any suggestions?
Its going to be set up in the play room / man cave with a 42" plasma, Wii, DVD/Blue-ray, and iPod hooked up to it. Would like to be able to just use one remote if possible and run everything through the receiver. If it has a 2nd zone, that would be a bonus.
