Receiver Yamaha HTR 5760 vs. Onkyo TX SR 601

Hi All,

I am presently considering these two receivers:
- Yamaha HTR 5760 (Best Buy: 499$)
- Onkyo TX SR 601. (Circuit City : 449$ open box)


This being my first receiver and being a newbie, I thought it would be good to take advice from experts on this forum.

It will be good if some inputs / comparisons on the two above mentioned receivers are shared with me.

This being my first receiver and being a newbie, I thought it would be good to take advice from experts on this forum.

While I'm far from an expert, I have a TX-SR600 and have been very pleased with it since day 1 (about 2 years ago). Have you read the reveiw of the 601 at the audioholics website? It has a very robust power section and you can find them quite cheap now that the 602 is out. The 601 is a very good value for the price. The unit I have sounds very good with my set up (Polk speakers if you haven't guessed by now ).
