Audiophyte
Hi,

I'm putting 2 pairs of in-wall speakers in the living room and dining room (1 pair in each room), and those rooms are sort of connected, so there will never be the need for separate audio source or volume control between those two. The speakers I'm putting in there are the On-Q 1000 6.5" rectangular speakers, which are rated 50W RMS / 100W Peak, 8 ohms.

I'm also putting two ceiling speakers in the kitchen--On-Q 6.5" round speakers at 75W RMS/ 100 W Peak, where we'll want a separate volume control and the potential for a separate audio source.

I'd love to have iPod connectivity, and even Sirius. I really want to be able to run my iTunes through the system, but I'm guessing that's easily done with AirTunes/Airport Express, right?

I'd be really grateful for suggestions as to what receiver would be best to power our speakers, given the above requirements. We won't be blasting the music ever... just listening while cooking, etc. Our budget's about $400--could go up to $500 if we had to, but prefer closer to $400 (or less, of course, if there's a cheaper system with all we need!)

Thanks so much for your time, and thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers,

McFin
