Have a Yamaha A3000 that when playing for a while in tuner mode sounds like a skipping record. if I change channel and put back on same station everything is fine. Any insight?

Are you listening in analog FM mode, or using the iBiquity/IBOC HD (hybrid digital) system?

Do you have a good antenna, or the miserable POS that came in the box?

If it sounds like j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j, I think it's a processor issue and signal strength isn't the cause. I have heard a couple of Denon receivers do this and shutting it off helps, too. Still waiting for a definitive answer from Denon.

Its odd it only does this when using the tuner. I think this might well be one of the litany of HD radio issues.

The OP should override the default to HD and see if he has it when he cancels the default to HD. The HD sounds lousy anyway, so he is better off listening in analog FM.

I don't remember if I was using HD radio or not and HD Radio may be the cause. I don't listen to much radio because MKE has two stations that play anything I like and they're not commercial stations, so I usually have Pandora playing if I'm not listening to CDs or LPs. I haven't heard this sound in quite a while.
