I'm thinking of selling my Jamo C7 home cinema and buying the new C80 series.I will begin whit the C 809 speakers.Help me to find the best receiver for the Jamo's.I'm really happy with the E770 but I'm thinking of an upgrade...Any suggestions...I live in Europe so probably I get a good price for a pair of C 809(aprox 1600 USD).

I have several Jamo speakers.

I would suggest you get yourself a seperate power amp that can crank at least 200 watts of quality power. The C809 and C807 both love good, clean quality power and they really come alive when you feed them well.

I've tried the receiver route and the seperate amp route. It's no contest and the difference is night and day.

Don't have the 450's, griffinconst. And I've never heard them either.

Sorry, can't help you with these.

I have the C603, C607, C803 and C807. But not the 450's.

I was thinking about the Onkyo TX-SR875.It has good reviews but I don't know if it is a good choice for the Jamo C80 series.Maybe somebody who has the C 80 series can tell me some brands and models.

Use the Preamp Outputs on the Pioneer SC-LX81. Page 63 of the Owner's manual contains the instructions.

Page 14 of the Owner's Manual has the diagram of the rear panel. Look there and look for section 16 on ther rear panel diagram. Section 16 is the preamp outputs for connecting to a seperate amplifier.

I believe the Jamo speakers are now manufactored in China, under Jamo's supervision.

Hi.It's been a while since I open this thread. Finally I got the Jamo C809 speakers and I'm looking for something to power them up.I'm thinking of buying a Emotiva amplifier XPA-2 or 3 to power the 2 fronts and maybe the center while the surround should get it from a receiver. So,when I listen to stereo music the Emotiva should be strong enough for the towers and sounding better in stereo mode then a av receiver. The source will be a OPPO BDP 103. Tell me please if I choose this way, how should I connect the amplifier, source and av receiver.Should I need a preamplification? Is the Emotiva XPa-2 a good choice for the 809?Thanks

Well,I did some research in the receiver manual and I know how to plug the pre outs to the power amp.But I really need some advice regarding amplification. Is it better to pare the emotiva power amp with a emotiva pre/pro like the UMC 1?Is there any difference between choosing the XPA-5 or go with the XPA-2 for the fronts and the XPA-3 for the rest of the channel, or XPA-2 for the fronts and a receiver for the rest.I really need some advice. Thanks

You have the Onkyo avr, correct? Use that as a pre-processor, hooked up to the external amps as you learned about in the manual. I would suggest the XPA3 for your front l/r/c, use the avr to drive the surround speakers. The XPA5 pricing may make it attractive as well, with two more solid amplifier channels for a pittance more. Either one would serve you well.
