Really though, I am just proud of the floor...

It's not wood, better in my opinion... though they do have this killer new Teac down at the local shop that I want to put in our downstairs, where my office is.

In any case, it's the hardest Janka rated floor on the market. Strand Woven Bamboo, in this instance, Tiger Stripe. (some manufacturers call this Marbled or Zebra stripe as well... same 'shtuff'.)

I'm a bamboo freak, I put in down in all of our rental properties. It has a shelf life as long as wood if not longer, I can put it down in the bathroom of rentals as it's considered a grass not a wood, therefore doesn't soak up water as much. I usually put the cheaper stuff in the rentals, and not the strand woven stuff, but that's still a great product.

Here's a link of a review that I did of Stranded Bamboo, or Strand Woven:

I ordered a bunch of samples throughout the US & Canada and just rated them. Like I said I'm a freak.

Thanks man.

Hmm... I guess nobody liked the system ! haha... it's cool, the floor is money.

The only thing about the modest HT, is that I had to put the amp behind the system because the stand I have will not support it. It need like 10 inches and a strong base, something like 130 pound amp. So, I took a few pieces of bamboo and made a base as not to scratch up the floor.

When I purchased the stand I didn't think about the weight and honestly couldn't find any decent ones. I actually just came across the 'Standman Lowboy' which looks like it would work, strong and what not, but not liking the wood feel. I could always paint it. Ideas welcome. Pic below.

SWEET floor ! how much per sq ft is that stuff ? prefinished ? i just did tarkett natural red oak in our kitchen and dining room. looks pretty nice for the $$$. and its pretty tough.

NICE gear. love the sub. but i have a question. doesn't the hard floor cause unwanted reflexsions and echos ?

oh

ZEPPLIN, NO QUARTER. one of my favs.

Nice setup, but I would not want to put that earthquake amp on its side like that. The parts aren't meant to withstand heat sideways. Heat softens metal and gravity is no joke either.

That floor is gorgeous!

I looked at a few different bamboo varieties over the past couple of years, as I've been wanting to redo my floors, too. I finally decided about a month ago not to go with wood or bamboo, and will instead be replacing my tile with other tile. Still, yours looks great!

I paid about $5 sq ft, but if you check the link I put
In the original post to my review, they range from $4-$6.50 ish.

And, we had carpet in there before but the difference is incredible.
Maybe it's because I was finally able to run a 50ft ViaBlue sub cable
To the correct side of the room through the crawlspace...
No echoes or anything... Nothing rattles, just powerful, tight bass.

Thank you to everyone for the compliments.

Hey Bluesmoke,

Yeah, I don't really know what to do. I have it suspended and not laying completed on its side touching the bamboo on its little makeshift platform I made. The Earthquake amp is a little different than most amps because it houses 5 separate 300w amps in their own little slide out cage so I didn't think it would hurt. But you may be right though. I might email Earthquake and see what they say.

Any ideas welcome and thanks for the reply.
