She was able to get selected for summer '28 Olympics. Most of the popular stuff was too much or sold out. So far we got Taekwondo and Archery in LA. We have a shot at Women's soccer here in San Jose as well, but those have not been made available yet. We are looking at a few others.

The little lady.
Oh, nice ... you got a keeper.

Hmmm ... what's boring? My girl/little lady/wife is returning her iPhone for the $300 credit while I wait in the car.

What's not boring is that I strategically left my tools at Ken's after taping out his ceilings to give myself another shot at listening to the Blades. It really is that big a deal to me. I was too tired to be packing up after sanding them out and giving the inside angles their final coat. Now it’s just a matter of timing it so that we have maybe a couple of hours free time for me to take in the level of bliss I can't lean on drugs to provide any longer.

It's a little wacky how much I enjoy music. It doesn't have to be out of systems in the tens of thousands of dollars but it doesn't hurt either.

Oh yeah, I have that WiiM to hook up. I gotta get a sub for that system. That means a trip to my buddies place. I'ze got stuff to do. That's always good. Unlike that song about too much time on my hands.

SWMBO is still in the Verizon store.

Same, there is almost never a time when I don't have music on. While I obviously prefer it on a good system, as long as I have my music, I am OK with whatever it is playing on.

Out of curiosity, I looked up the price of the Blades. I wasn't surprised by the price and I just added it to the list of "when I win the lottery" stuff. Problem is, I never buy lottery tickets...

Blade 2 Meta go for 27 or 28K IIRC according to Sean Olive on FB.

Just knock it off with the avocado toast and you'll get there.

EDIT: I looked it up too. 28k

So the WiiM build got an ADS Sub 10 dragged into The Greystone Residence this morning. Zero info on the sub but I've heard it in action and it's heavy AF. I got a set of wheels from Middle Atlantic freed up to put it on from an audio room at Bryant University. It's all rough AF.

My sub is black and beat up but a pic I found of a good looking one is making me a little wet.

Unfortunately I'm out of time on this. How can I be busy when there is so much f&^&ing off to be done?

Edit to add pic and say that this could be time for my first faux finish ... hmmm.

Anyone want to buy some nearly brand new BMRs? :D :oops:o_O:oops:

Now that I have had mine for a few months...they released the SUPER BMR  For more money of course...almost 2x, but I'm interested lol. Currently sold out of the first run, but I can wait. Looks to be they are matching the driver config as on the towers.

Not that I can afford them but I'm curious about asking prices on BMRs that got driven off the lot and can be called not even broken in.

It's super cool that Dennis is making such a big splash in the speaker world. He's like that Energizer Bunny.

In other news: I fixed the toilet in condoland. I hate plumbing. There's the ever present threat of a little leak. A drip, a drop, a dripity dropity. The nightmare scenario of being a chump and having to call in a million dollar per hour plumber. But not this time, leakity leak.

What color are they? How much are you asking? If you prefer, you could PM me.

They are piano rosewood, curved cabinets.

They just put the Super BMR on the site, but looks like it could be a while before normal humans can get a pair. It looks like if I reserve now, I might get them in Dec. but more likely early next year.

In the who's dumber than me category I score damn high. For a salvaged Middle Atlantic surge protection/EMI filter that cost under $40 near as I can tell, I spent $39.39 for cable, strain relief and male plug. My time of course is worthless and the gas there and back ... oh why fight it, I'm high scorer.

I could have done this with parts laying around and I didn't need 13'11" of cable but that's how much was left on the spool of 14/2 at Home Depot. The plug didn't need to be pretty but the cable Craig sent for the WiiM is pretty so there's that too.

Today is oil change day. I use synthetic and the car takes like 6+ quarts so I figure I'm saving around $100.

That's enough money for me to get down and dirty for. Plus I have Moog front end parts that need grease. Oil change places never get all of them and/or over fill them.

I like to get it every 5k miles but now it’s been almost 8k miles. Perfect weather for it and I have tunes in my work space. We call it The Boat House. I'm feeling pretty good about this. Motivation and opportunity at the same time is magical. But that's probably just the coffee talking.

I'm talking about this because it's part of my reward system. I'm feeling good about something without actually having done anything. But now ... it's show time.

My last oil change for the Lexus was $150. For the STI, $175. I agree that is money maybe spent better as my time than cash, but I just don't enjoy the idea of crawling around under my cars anymore. I took both bikes in for tune ups because I didn't have my tools at the house yet...I am getting lazy with that kind of stuff, but I have too much other stuff I need to spend my time on.

I was just asked to trim my software budget by half a mil this year and $1m next year. Gonna get busy.

I know a guy who gets his wife to go in with a coupon for conventional oil and gets away with just over 50 bucks. But she spends 4 or 5 hours in the line to get the oil changed. Single income family with 4 kids will do that to a person.

I don't like crawling around down there either. It really helps to be in the right head space. Otherwise it's torture.

I used to do such maintenance years ago - oil changes, brakes and other stuff. But, it's been a while. The shop I go to does good work at good prices, so I can't be arsed anymore.

I was a marine engineer in the navy - I swung wrenches for a living. It's like you doing drywall all day, then coming home to do more drywall.

The shop I go to does very good work too, but they aren't cheap. Parts aren't cheap anymore for the STI and are harder to get. The Lexus, parts were always expensive.

This shop is one of only about 2 places I source the oil I use from, and he's the only one local.

Changing oil isn't difficult, but getting rid of it is a pain. I can't even find a place to get rid of coolant around here. So now I have to pay $300 for a mechanic to put in a new drain plug in one vehicle and a sensor in another.
I don't mind working on my vehicles just due to the fact that a lot of shops just aren't good. I've got two I trust, but only with certain things.

My wife's car has a tick that's either an exhaust leak (manifold bolts apparently break on her car) or a lifter issue. One is much cheaper than the other. No clue who I'd get to fix it, and I don't do engine work.

Fun stuff.
