Okay. Can't you just bend them back outwards? As long as you get metal to metal contact, you're good. You could even put in an intermediate conductor between the battery and the contacts.

I tried and no go. It was not the 5th time she dropped it so there may be other things wrong as well but that was the only issue I can see. It does sound a bit like a maraca when you shake it.
