Since you're asking here I take it you're looking for the short answer but should you want an in depth reply, ask your wife.

Drinking isn't for everybody. Some people do much better without ... ;)
Best wishes on that deal. :)

I've been doing some pretty amazing maintenance type stuff to the Focus -to be referred to as my fofo from here on in. Hanging out at a U-Pull-It (Doug ... grow up ... alright? :D) junk yard clued me into the fact that these things have a serious problem with the passenger side motor mount. So I tracked down a fofo forum and found out that I was able to get in on a fuel pump recall too. Throw in a balancing and alignment and what we have is a rattle and shake free fofo that is smooth. Plugs and wires didn't hurt it none either. I cleaned up a bunch of ground connections while I was at it.

Now I need to grow a pair that's big enough to go after the timing belt. The recommended replacement is at 120k miles and I just passed 160k. If that thing goes it's game over. I want to change out the water pump while I'm at it. I bought a factory radio with a CD player to replace my radio with a cassette player. Yep, I got big plans for my fofo. :)

Make sure you check the pulleys whenever you change the belts. They have a tendency of going out and causing the end of fofo.

So far I have changed my tensioner twice. One of those times it broke completely but the loss of power steering and the alternator or battery light are dead giveaways to the fact that your water pump is inoperational. The timing belt is a different deal. That's a time bomb. What the hell did you do to your fofo? Like if you're not gonna sign up to pay $400 / month for 5 years then you have to be down with at least a little money going toward parts and tools.

What are you driving into the ground now that you murdered your fofo? :D

Haha, best cry ever:
That's how I feel about the lack of action in the boring thread.

Over in the fofo forum there's not much going on either except for me antagonizing somebody about the Foci being Toys for Tots as opposed to Big Boy Cars. We'll see how that plays out.

Getting a pizza and being a total couch potato. I feel like I'm in a rut.

Don't have any movies to watch either. :(

This thread wouldn't be boring if there was TOO much action.

Hey Alex, is that a 2.0L Zetec engine? Some are Interference engines (valves hit pistons) when the timing belt breaks, and some aren’t depends on the year and engine. You probably know this, just thought I’d throw it out there.

It's good for rallying actually. The focus is a very nice car for modding too. I prefer tighter steering though.

I busted the serpentine belt and it busted two radiator hoses in the middle of the afternoon on a summer day in Texas. The engine overheated and the value of the car halved in one days time. It turned out one of the pulleys was the cause of the belts premature failure.

I used my sweet talk with Mom and Dad and the Car Dealer to get a great deal on the Mazda 3 s. I think it's a step up from the Focus in handling and braking. Both cars can punch it pretty well though. I really want the 3 series BMW, but that's gotta be a few years down the road. I've got amps to build and speakers to finish first. Not to mention the projector screen and upgrade when the time comes. :D

I debated between cars or speakers/woodworking for a hobby. I have chosen the later.
