I guess. But the sale is over today. If you look on the MB Quart website, you will see that both lines (S and Vera) are made the same as far as the drivers are concerned. I can't say enough about the sound quality of these speakers. They can really take a beating for hours.

I have MB Quart Premium speakers in my pickup truck and my father has MB Quart Q-Line speakers in his Hummer, as well as MB Quart subwoofers. We also use all MB Quart speakers in the boats we manufacture. Their quality in car audio and nautic audio is among the best, and I'm in no way surprised to see them sucessful in home audio! I have yet to give them a listen, but I plan on it!

How do you mean that, good or bad for the 830's?

just that they (the 830's) are officially yesterday's news, replaced with a newer model.

No. The Vera is just a new line. The 803's were on sale for three days. Mine were on sale when I got them. Just not as good of a sale. If you go here http://www.mbquart.com/2003/ you will see that the whole S-line is still today's news.

What receive do you use to power these. I will be picking up my 2500 this week (I hope) and I read in the bench test reviews it is suggested not driving 4 omh speakers and not anything under 87db do you agree with this?

I had them on a Yamaha RX-V1400. It did not have a problem driving them at all. I added a Adcom 7605 amp later. I gained better control over the speakers, & system is cleaner at higher levels. I crank it pretty loud with rock. The amp will also add life to my receiver. The 2500 should drive them with no problem what so ever. But, there is no doubt these speakers do put more strain on the receiver.

Yea, I emailed them to see if they had any plans to repeat that sale and haven't heard back.
