Part of the issue is that Baby Boomers grew up in the golden age of music where top bands were curated, pampered and funded by major studios. So we got used to listening to great music -- and much of what we hear today, half a century later is that same music. Today's music is produced much more cheaply (mostly on laptops instead of recording studios) and mediocre songs are pushed through the streaming chain, get a single listen and that's it. So, why would anyone invest thousands to listen to junky music? The answer: Home theater bringing games and movies to life with chest thumping bass and 3D sound fields. Plus, Apple is pioneering spatial and lossless music that a good Home Theater system can really exploit -- Comparing it to stereo is like comparing stereo to mono recordings. There is no comparison.
