How does the Acoustic Research PR171 Digital RCA Cable (6 feet) cable compare to the AudioQuest RCA cables ( AudioQuest G-Snake audio cable - RCA plugs 1m (3.28') stereo pair )? Does it really make any difference like the 20 - 200 dollar price difference? Thanks!!

I need to get something to connect my Energy CF 70 to my Outlaw Audio Model 2200 through my Onkyo HT RC270 Pre-Out. Thank you!!!!!

Hi. This is a common question. You should be able to find a wealth of opinions if you do a search here on the forum.

The short of it is - acoustically, I don't believe that you'll notice a difference. You might notice a difference in how easy it is to work with either cable (due to connector tightness, cable stiffness, how the outer sheath feels, and so on).

There are many, many options out there for RCA cables. If aesthetics isn't a big concern, then you shouldn't need to spend more than $10 on a 6-foot cable. Monoprice has some good ones for about $4 (before shipping). If you like the Acoustic Research PR171, go for it - they look to be about $7 online.

For receiver to amp I am sure the AR will do just fine. I have some Audioquest cables in my system and can honestly say they are good quality, but really don't sound noticeably better than my Bluejeans cables.
