I just got my set of Klipsch Reference Speakers in and I'm about to set them up. My question is, from everyone's experience, is it worth keeping the boxes the speakers came in for resale value in the future? I have heard that having the original boxes the speakers came in can help with resale value...is this true? Also, I was thinking about keeping them because I might be moving in about 6 months or so (college student). I don't really have room for them, but if it is honestly a benefit, I might consider it.

Thanks

I would say that if you expect that you will have to ship them cross-country at resale time, keep the boxes. If you are more likely to sell them locally or to a friend, ditch the boxes. Or simply fold the boxes flat and throw the packing in the back of a closet until you need it. Storing boxes is a pain. I have a whole room full.

I would think the boxes would be a help in moving so your speakers don't get scratched or dammaged. As was mentioned you can always fold them up. We kept the boxes from a cross-country move by a van line and we used them up for a variety of things over time. I don't think speaker boxes would be so usefull, but the point is keeping the boxes folded up isn't a big deal.

Deffo keep the boxes if you have the room! I purchase much of my gear used, as well as sell some too. When the owner of the gear states they have the origianl packing it says to me that they are committed and caring about their equiptment and I keep that in mind when determining what to bid or pay for the gear. Keep it if you can.

Keep the boxes. I just sold a pair of my old speakers and had to pay 45 for new boxes. For sure keep them....:)

Great, thanks for all the replies guys. As tough as it was to find a place for everything, I got the boxes broken down and kind of "hidden"
