As many of you know the story, this is the one that got away for Sony Corp, and resulted in a couple of decades of sub-standard tape-based recording systems. I for one, believe that if Sony had continued development, we would all be recording our favorite shows onto DigiBeta today instead of paying $35k for one for use as a production tool.</font>
