Quick Question

i'm trying to find out which of the two setups would be better for movies/tv. i'm looking between the Bose 321 or having a yamaha rxv659 with axiom m2's and either a hsu stf-1 or stf-2. my roomate has the bose system and thing nothing bets bose, and i'm thinking about piecing together my 1st home system with the previously list stuff. the price for all my stuff is about the same as the bose system. is the bose going to blow mine out of the water or will my setup be comparable?

Factory car speakers would blow Bose out of the water.
So some Axiom speakers and a HSU sub would definitely walk all over that Bose.


Whatever you do, stay away from Bose. They are basically 3" paper drivers combined with 5-6" "subwoofers." No highs, no lows, a big gap between the satellites and the bass modules. I could make better-sounding speakers on my own, and I've never made speakers before.

Get the Axion and Hsu stuff you'll be very glad you did. The Bose stuff is simply not in the same class. When you do get your gear please show (sound) it off to any and all Bose boosters. Let them feel cheated.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! Definitely more bass, sometimes crisp and clean and other times MUDDY, but still more bass in a fart than Bose can produce!!!!

.....Bose cubes have very small points of imaging, sound good about anywhere in the room, with about any room....that's another selling plus in their favor, MSEQUEIRA, besides being micro, but listen up....you get some Axiom speakers and even the HSU 1 sub, get any offensive brilliance off the highs of the Axiom's with decent room damping, correct, we're crankin' it, put the single sub dead center in the front soundstage three inches from the back wall, and the Bose-owning roommate will send his cube-system fishin'.....
