Anyway I will keep you guys informed and I REALLY appreciates your input guys. I tell you what why don't you guys throw in some input for a good budget system for my buddy. A set of 5.1 satellites only no sub. Keep in around 500-700. Let’s see what we can come up with. :D Thanks.
Try Ascend Acoustics.

You said he likes M&K .... well

Wow, that Grand Canyon wide gap in frequency response is amazing, and the "bass module" is just pathetic. I have a set of $300 Logitech Z-5500s as computer speakers, and even with 5 sats, and a control pod that is a Dolby, DTS, 96\24 decoder, Logitech still managed to include a real subwoofer with a thick MDF ported cabinet and a real 10" driver with usable bass down to 30hz.

A real subwoofer should be like the four sealed 8"s in my OM-6s. Flat response from 14hz up, crossed to the mids at 80hz.

You won't beleive what happen yesterday!!!!!!!!!

Well first things first. My memory was not quite right on the set-up with the Bose. Actually there are speaker wires for each speaker going from the receiver to the bass module, and then all of the cubes are driven from the bass module. I am sorry for the miss-statement.

Now for the really exciting part. We went auditioning subs yesterday. We listened to a SPL 1000 and my friend was kind of unimpressed really. I tried to get the guy at the store to give me the remote, I don't think it wa set up correctly, they were running it through a Yamaha Z9. But while we were there I remember my friend telling me they had a set of Mirage bookshelf speakers on sale for what I thought he said for $248.00. Anyway we left and while driving down the street he says "I can't believe they had those Mirage speakers on sale for $48.00". I said WHAT speakers and he told me the bookshelves above the receivers. Now I had seen them and I knew them to be Omni 60s'. Well I immediately called them back, and sure enough the guy said yes. They had 2 Omni 60's and 1 Omni 50 for $48.00 each. We could not go back right away but did go back later. Picked up the 2 60's. One has a slight dent in the tweeter but we hooked them up and gave them a listen. Can you say SOLD!!!!

While we were there my buddy went ahead and picked up the same sub as I have. The DLS-3750R, he has heard mine and loves it. A quick trip to get some wire and Sub cable then hooked up the two 60's to the right and left front and my friend is BLOWN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had a little problem with the sub (Got plugged into the 6 ch. sub input not the sub out) once that got resolved oh baby. I called him on the way home and he was like a little kid at Christmas, so happy. The bass response from the Omni 60's is really amazing. And the fact that you can move all around the room without losing any of the sweet spot is amazing. He also found a lot of loose things in his house since the sub is putting out some LFE.

Anyway long story short, he is going to purchase an Omni CC and some Omni 50's for the rear surrounds, and he is set. He can put that Bose crap in his room or sale it on E-bay.

Two Omni 60's for less than a hundred bucks. Can you believe it? :D
