Hey everyone, my roommates and I have been looking for a subwoofer for our home theatre, and we don’t want to spend a lot of money, but we still want to get some bang for our buck. I have been searching for some affordable subs for a while now, and I found this one sub offered by a power seller on ebay. I am a bit skeptical because his prices are very low compared to subs with the same power. I was wondering if you guys can help me out, I don’t want to buy some piece of junk that is going to break within a week. Can you give me your opinion on this?

here is the link to the sub in question.

Ok. I'll start this off. NO. Don't buy it. It's probably a ripoff, piece of crap, etc. I'll let the other forum members suggest to you REAL QUALITY subwoofers and pricing and links.
At $479.00, I'M SURE, there are at least a dozen or more name brand subs out there that are better than this thing.

The sub isnt selling for $479. That is the supposed market value of it. It is going probably going to sell for about $70 with shipping. The weird thing is the guy sells all stuff like this and has very good seller feedback.

It doesn't look like a scam, but it doesn't look particularly impressive either. I suppose for $50-60 it probably isn't total junk, though the addage "you get what you pay for" also comes quickly to mind.

"Good seller feedback" means very little as to the quality of the product.

I'm an amateur astronomer, and I'm continually appalled by the crap, crap, CRAP telescopes that get pushed on eBay in large numbers, by sellers with great ratings.

The ratings refer to the transaction, shipping, etc., and is not a review of the product.

I've just recently been seeing a lot of Acoustic Audio speakers on Ebay.
Another Digital Theater iteration perhaps?

I'll add to the above responses. Don't buy it. Something doesn't smell right.

Plus I can think of quite a few times that I bought something off eBay, got it at work and thought it was great, so gave the guy a good review. Then I got home and really got a chance to scrutinize the product and found it wasn't as great as I initially thought. But eBay doesn't let you alter your feedback once you've left it. I've wanted to change by positive rating to negative a few times.

If you give them a negative, you get a negative. That's why they have good feedback.

There should be a product review area.
