Question Regarding Receiver Upgrade- DSP-A1 to RXV2500

Hi guys, I am new to the forum but just wanted some opinions on upgrading from DSP-A1 to a newer receiver such as a Yamaha RXV1500, 2500 or Pioneer Elite 54TX(this price range). The DSP-A1 works perfect but I just have an itch to try something new. Just wondering if I would notice an improvement with going to one of these receivers or a downgrade in performance? I know there has likely been huge improvements in the processing/DSP's etc but not sure if I would hear anything. Should I just keep my current amplifier? I have Energy C-8 mains, Energy AC-300 centre and Boston Acoustic rears. By the way the DSP-A1 is on a well known auction site right now if anyone is interested in a mint condition unit. Thanks in advance for any input or help with this.

Given the options you listed, I would stick with the DSP-A1. Although it lacks PLIIx and DTS 96/24, it more than makes up for it in fidelity, smoothness and amplifier power. Its a great machine and I miss the one I sold 4 years ago :(

Absolutely and fully agree with Gene, the only replacement you can think about is RX-Z1 or Z9, however it would be an un-neccesary expense, one you should rather spend on a pair of good speakers, or maybe a nice, powerful external beast of an amp like the MX-1000 or MX-1 from Yamaha still available on eBay for around $700. The DSP-A1 is a fine unit with a very good pre section and has all the soundfields one can think about.

Hi Gene, I exchanged emails with you regarding my DSP-A1. Thanks Yamahaluver and Gene for the input.
