I just double check, and I'm at a total lost!

I just read: * "A separate audio connection is necessary to process multichannel audio."
This is in reference to the HDMI Pass-Thru connection!

Here: http://www.intl.onkyo.com/technology/glossary/hdmi-pass.html

More info: http:www.intl.onkyo.com/downloads/product_info/pdf/ht-s3200_ex_leaflet.pdf

This is outrageous! And it's a newer product too!

Now, I feel so sorry for Joe. Perhaps, he can exchange it for another one. He should, if he is inside the 30 days period time frame.

Hey Bob & Adam,

I actually read what you posted Adam about it not being compatible in the manual myself while I was flipping through it but for some reason it also says it does support HDMI audio multiple times throughout the manual and even has a drawn instructional illustration of the receiver using HDMI as an audio input. so it had me kind of scratching my head... Oh well, I guess I'll just have to live with DTS compressed audio at 1,500kbs until a future upgrade. Which is still fine with me.

I still want to thank you Bob for the information you provided because it was helpful in giving me a better understanding of receiver hook up and will be good to know when I make that upgrade to an HDMI audio compatible receiver, which looks like it will be sooner than later now with the information you provided for me.

Thank you too, Adam

Hey Joe, how long do you have this system?

I've had the system for about a week now but the thing is, the day I got it I left my home for what's going to be at least several weeks. So I took the manuals with me and been reading as much as I can online about it so when I get back home I'll be able to just get to work instead of sitting there for hours wondering whats what. But yeah, I remember the package being really heavy and the hassle of having to return it and pay for shipping it back and yadda yadda just doesn't really seem worth it. This is my first home audio system and I'll see what I can get out of it, and maybe in a few months I'll upgrade the receiver.

Thanks again,
Joe

OK Joe, it's up to you now.

Well, you know best what to do. At least you know the score now.
And it is an open option to exchange it, if you want to.

Sorry for the false joy that I created.

Bob
