Does more wattage on an amp mean better clarity or more loudness? I am trying to choose between Rotel 1075 Vs 1095. My room is medium+. Obviously, I am after more clarity and dont care much about loudness

IMO, it only means more clarity at a given volume if you have insufficient power now for the level you're listening at.

As already mentioned, in most cases (such as your case), it is none of the above - you are not getting any more volume and you are not getting any more clarity.

Basically, additional power is really only helpful on peaks, not on normal listening conditions.

If you don't want to read the whole thing and learn the whys and wherefores of what you're asking, this link contains a chart that might help explain what you seem to be asking. The main thing to keep in mind is that 3db is barely audible and 10db is roughly twice as loud.

So, basically, unless you at least double your power, it ain't worth it.
