i just picked up the 91thx amp from pioneer

i set up the auto mcacc and it was fantastic.

the only question i have, is i run the ps3 lpcm, and was wondering what sound setting you prefer..

right now i use auto surround but there are such settings as pure direct, direct, thx cinema etc

anyone have any suggestions or past experience with the pioneer receivers

i picked up this reciever for 599.00! i love it

i have a question though for you experienced guys.

is anyone familiar with the phase control options that pioneer has, and whether or not they are any good?
i have a yamaha amp
they have this thing called cinema dsp which is an enhanced decode for sound....
there is also an option for straight decode..

do any of you have any experience with this and preference as to what setting to use

i watch a lot of blu rays

thanks

The direct/pure direct mode might bypass the bass management, so you don't want to do that. THX will likely dull the sound, it's meant for harsh soundtracks, which won't be as big an issue with the uncompressed HD audio formats. I would leave it on auto.

no i have just the one mcacc, most of my watching is blu rays and dvd's.

i think auto surround would be my best bet
