As always, I wanted to get the Yamaha Soavo Center speaker to match my Soavo-1. I almost had it for $525 but the seller had to canceled at the end. Then I ordered the NS-C444 Center, I don't really care too much about matching finish, but how about sound matching? Would the NS-C444 matches my Soavo-1 fronts? Thank you so much...

Worst case scenario, Ill just order a pair of NS-777. Thanks

So basically you are saying you would buy another set of stereo speakers instead of just biting the bullet and buying the Soavo center? Are you crazy?

I personally think the NS-555 will sound fine with the Soavos, at least better than it would by downgrading to the NS-777 towers.

Yeah, I think I'm crazy about buying speakers... I would think of using the NS-series for Theater application and Soavos for music. Or set up a 7.1 instead of 5.1. As you can see here, I only got a 2.1 system, I need at least 5 more. Thanks...

I think you are missing my point. Your home theater isn't going to sound better because you bought matching speakers of lesser quality. If you want you could spend the dough on the Soavo center and use whatever speakers you want as surrounds until you get extra dough, like those extra huge Yamaha speakers you have.

OR

If you must get the NS-C444 I suggest that you continue to use the Soavos for home theater with that center. The home theater isn't going to be better just because you got the NS-777s to match the center speaker, and I would certainly think that would be a backwards step and an utter waste of money.

Otherwise you are going to be spending $600-700 on speakers that are below par, when you could spend an extra $100-200 and just get the Soavo 900c, which AH store has for $799 with free shipping. You could then bump those big honkin Yamaha towers you have to the back, or if small speakers are required I can just send you a pair of NS-A528 bookshelf speakers I have if you just pay shipping.:D Yes, I'd rather you send you speakers I have rather than you waste it on downgrading yourself.:D

The NS-C444 is a sub par center, to put it bluntly.
I owned one.
I would not downgrade the fronts to match it.

Well, I just email to cancel the NS-777(hope it is not too late), but too late for the NS-C444, bought from amazon and can I return it? The NS-333 will be use for surrounds. Thanks guys, well the point here is to have more speakers so I can do a 7.1 and not really downgrade the Soavos. The idea to me is instead of buying the Soavo Center, I can use the same money to get a whole set up as 7.1...

Believe me, 7.1 is overkill for a majority of people. I'm glad you changed your mind, otherwise you wouldn't be able to stand me.:D

It is officially now, the NS-777 is canceled, I'm now stuck with the NS-C444, but let see how is the performance with my set-up.

Soavo-1 Fronts

Hi,

I had a demonstration on the Soavo-1 fronts, and I was stunned with the performance. The speakers were powered by a Denon 4308 which is an expensive amp for me.

I was wondering how are the Soavo-1 treating you and what do you advice.

Do you suggest I buy the full Soavo with 900M/C/SW ?

Its is being offered to me at $4500

Also, what amp power it requires, and which amp you advise.

Thanks.
