Question about preamp/apm setup levels...

Hi!
I remember reading that it was recommended for the subwoofer out to be set up at -7db in the receiver and use the Subwoofer amp to set the correct db Level. Now when using a receiver as pre with a LPA-1 amp, does it make a difference if I set the main channel, for example, at 0db or -7db?
Is that -7db recommendation only for the sub?

Thanks!

Subwoofer amp settings

Any volume setting on the sub amp that is within the +/-10 dB receiver range should work fine. I have mine calibrated such that it is close to 0dB setting when it is balanced with the mains so I can tweek it up a few dB for movie playback.

One scenario where you might want a high +5-10dB setting on the receiver is if you are having a problem with the auto-on feature of the sub. A higher voltage from the receiver will make the sub more likely to turn on.
