Question About Forum Shutdown

I wasn’t sure if this is the right place to ask, but I wanted to check if anyone knows why Stereophile shut down their forum and comment section. I’ve been a member of the Stereophile forum for a long time, and I was surprised to see it go offline.

As I've pointed out at other sites, their open in-page commenting is now "retired" but cherry picked "selected letters" will still be used:
