Question about CD output on PS3 after 1.9 update

How to I take advantage of this? And how would I know if my receiver supports this or not? I'm currently running a Denon 2802 and the PS3 is connected to the receiver via optical.

I read about this too but I can't say I've tried it out. I don't use my PS3 for CDs. Should work via optical.

I just gave it a try - 96kHz works and locks the receiver into "direct 96 kHz" mode. I sounds way better than before - virtually the same as my cd player!
