Question about cable wire from old receiver to new speakers

Hello. I have an old old old receiver from years ago (Radio Shack Realistic brand) and it's been sitting in the basement for years. A local non profit senior center is looking for audio equipment. I want to donate my receiver to them. I'm not sure if this old receiver will work with their speakers. Someone already gave them a pair of speakers. The speakers only accept RCA type cable connector. Unfortunately, my old receiver's speaker outlets do not accept RCA type plug. I remember just put the wire directly into the opening. They look like this:

Do you think I can find speaker cable that will work with my old receiver? Thanks for your help. :)

Welcome to Audioholics Paul,

Radioshack has RCA plugs that can be attached to standard speaker cables, there is a possibility it is the speakers that are older than the receiver.LOL:D There won't be any compatibility issues other than a very simple adapter you can make yourself.:)

Good luck.

Speaking of the Shak...

They used to sell speaker cables with an RCA plug at one end and, I believe, spade lugs on the other end. If t hey still do, just cut the spades off and you'll be all set to go.

Thank you Seth and Mark! That sounds easy enough. I'll bring the receiver to them. I can buy the cable for them if it works out! Thanks so much for your help! :)
