Hi All,

Just got a nice new XPS 410 scratch and dent for a steal. I am going to be using it with the Logitech Z-2300 2.1 THX speaker system. Can anyone suggest a "quality" sound card for the job?

Thanks

Cube, did it come with just integrated audio or does it already have a sound card? Also, what's your budget?

I have a Creative Audigy 2 ZS and think that it does a great job.

Hi Adam,

The scratch and dent systems don't come with any type of audio card.
Budget prolly under $70 if that is reasonable..saw ur card on flea bay for around $35-40.

Thanks

X-Fi would be a better future-proof deal

But the main reason to get X-Fi (despite marketing claims about "Crystallizer") is that it uses a new chip that makes audio resampling inaudible. And if you do not want it - you can turn it off - unlike on most other sound cards.

Can get X-Fi Xtreme Music or X-Fi Xtreme Gamer for less then $70.

Full Vista support might play role in future as well, Audigy is kind of old now.
