Purchasing On-line

Does anyone have any experience buying a DLP, Plasma or LCD Large format TV online? I have been shopping around and have decided on the Sony KDS-R50XBR1. So far the cheapest I could find it at my local store is $3299 before taxes and warranty. Online I can get it for around $2500. After all is said and done, once I add shipping and a 5yr warranty it would be $3200 online.

Is it worth the risk to buy online?

Do some research. See if the vendor is reputable. Call their customer service number. Look at their policies and make sure they don't sell you a refurb unit. I have bought many things online from non major online stores and had great success.
