Jamo

Agreed, I have heard Jamo higher end a few years ago, and I remember thinking at the time that if I listened to classical music or artsy stuff that they would be great. But I listen to heavy and alternative so I'll keep that in mind. as far as Home T Direct, I don't think I like the looks of them that much. I wish I could hear ribbon and electrostat speakers but the only ones in my area are way out of my price range. Which brings me full circle back to PSB, DEF TECH, Paradigm(the mon 9 are the ones I like best but too $). I'm gonna go listen to several Def Tech models today. Thanks to all who have helped me get closer to the end of this quest. I may also try out the Magnepans for 650$. I know then I'll need a sub too.

If you listen to the DefTech Bipole speakers, make sure you pull them out from the walls - like 2ft or even 3ft if possible at the store.

Def Tech

Good stuff Definitive Technology. I listened to all their speakers and I'm a disciple. My only problem is that the Bp8(I can afford) are going to be a ***** to keep clean, moreover to keep my cats from using as scratching post. I wish u could undress these speakers. I may have to go down to the studio monitor 450 for this reason. They sound great as well, but that dipole sound is addictive. What do the Bp towers look like w/out the pullover cloth? Not good I'm sure. I suppose I could get my cats to leave them alone with some coxing. But the spray bottle is out with these speakers. Oh well, this is not a cataholics site. Probably would have similiar problems with the Magnepans. Thinking about getting 4 Studio 450's with stands and subwoofer or 2. Then I will have to address the Pioneer Elite. Very interested in the Integra line of receivers. Anybody own the 50.2 or the 40.2 or any older models?

The SM450's will be good. The speakers are not attractive with the
sock pulled down.
