I am looking to go from micro bookshelves (energy take) to floor standing speakers.

i am going to be building a 5.1 setup with a SVS sub

i am down to a complete NHT Absolute set up or a PSB image T5 setup w/bipoles.

My room is about 30'x20'

just looking for some input...

It comes down to a matter of taste and preferance -The PSB is
a little on the polite side and is ported and can be a little boomy.
The NHT has more of a neutral sound, and is accoustic suspension
and to me has a tighter more controlled bass. The upper midrange
of the NHT sounds better to me. I like them both and you need to
buy from someone who has a return policy. They will be happy with
14 awg oxygen free copper wire.

i like the fact that PSB offers a bipole...

my goal is to stay around $2000 for all 5 speakers.

Oxygen free wire? That's a joke, right? A jibe at the lamp cord in his sig?

I own the previous generation PSB Image series; T45 mains, 8c center, and 1B bookshelves used as surrounds. The T45s are a very versatile speaker and are equally adept in both HT and two-channel stereo systems. My system plays double duty in both HT and 2-channel. Their towers are known for imaging and dynamics producing a very detailed and deep soundstage while being able to play very loudly and clean when called upon. They are not fatiguing by any sense. They invite the listener to listen to them rather tahn throw the sound in your face. They are ported but I do not find them boomy at all. All speakers are sensitive to room placement and can sound boomy if placed too closely to walls.

It comes down to a personal preference. Both speakers have plus and minuses. Its matching these plus and minuses with what you prefer to hear is the key. ;)
