PS3 problem...starting a movie where you left off?

I can't seem to get it to start a movie at the same point I stopped watching it. It always reverts back to the beginning. It was working about 2 updates ago when they introduced it in the latest update at that time. I think I've since had 2 more updates and just noticed recently that it no longer does this. Anyone else have this problem?

I've noticed this as well. I can't seem to find a setting adjustment anywhere that would enable it either.

i've resorted to just checking the time stamp i left off, then skipping to that chapter/time when i return. :(

It only does this on regular dvd's, and certain blu ray discs, I think it only works with blu ray discs that are older, like pre profile 1.1 discs. But you can manually set a memory location for your current disc, so you can pick back up right there later.

If a movie has things that "autorun" when the disc is put in, as well as some BD Live enabled discs, it will not start where you left off. The disc boots and goes into its routine, which means it always starts the movie from the beginning or takes you to the main menu.

Good suggestions. I've been playing around with the remote a bit lately and it seems that every movie is different. I could bookmark using the colour buttons on one movie, while on another movie those buttons did nothing.

Is there a way to view the chapter and time on the screen? I think I tried pushing every button with no luck. That's the one thing I don't like about the PS3 as there is no screen display.

hit triangle in the movie, click on the icon that looks like an "i" (info) and you will see the time stamp, hit i a few times to check time left and to make the display disappear.
