Not sure what you are doing, what cables are you running from the PS2 to the TV, or to the receiver. Do you get audio at all? Which audio cables did you run, not brands but from output ports to inputs.
What output is on that ps2? Is the ps2 setup properly?

im using the standard cables that come with the PS2. im matching the colored connections to the front of the plasma...yet no picture, no sound.

im missing something...

Did you switch to the correct input on the display? Sometimes you have to "turn on" certain inputs in the setup menu to be able to cycle through them.

There's nothing to setup on the PS2, it only has one A/V output with a proprietary connector on the PS2 side that has both audio and video. The one that comes in the box has R&L analog and composite video (also has optical digital out for audio separate). I picked up a component cable and IMO, it is worth it for games that support progressive scan and DVDs.
