I have an SR7001 Had the same exact problem. The SR series had a batch that had bad TEMP. SENSORS!

It tricks the Receiver into thinking it's over heating.

Grant you I bought mine Refurbished from accessories4less.com. It took them 2 tries to figure it was the temp. sensor.

That makes sense. It explains why his unit functions well between shut downs.

If that is the problem with his unit, repair should not be overly expensive.

I dont know any batch numbers, I sent it in once, and I dont remember if they replaced the tmp sensor or not the first time but wen i got it back it shut down after a week. I sent it back and they replaced the temp sensor that time. Its a known problem with this era of Marantz.

It was sent to D&M holdings (Marantz) for repair.
