Props to Polk Audio CS

My 6ish year-old PSW-111 sub started making popping sounds with no signal applied and distorting with signal applied. (I know, . . . with a sub that small and cheap how can one tell LOL)

Knowing this is not a great or even mid-end sub I was expecting it to be a total loss. However, it is sized just right to fit under a lamp table so I took a chance and removed the 16 screws holding the connection/amp panel. Disconnected the two wires to the woofer and the amp was free!
Upon close inspection, the amp had a cap that looked like it may have blown and there was a faint burned electronics smell.

Called Polk CS and for $58 including coast-to-coast return shipping they repaired and returned the amp in under a week. CS people were straight forward, the repair was way faster and cheaper than I expected and I am back in business, thanks PA.

That was actually really cool of Polk. They weren't obligated to do that much, considering the age of that sub, but I am glad to hear they took care of you.
