Hi everyone
I am a newbie and have a question. I am building a upper end home theater and am going to use a bel canto pre/pro and player along with their amps. I talked with them via email. They are saying that the new player they are releasing will not have HDMI only DVI and SDI. They are saying that SDI is a far better system for Video than HDMI. I would like your views on this and does anyone know of any projectors that have this connection on them. Thanks from the newbie.

SDI is very good and extremely convenient. Not everything uses it though and it's not a copyright-friendly format if I'm not mistaken... It has limited use in consumer gear and is a widely-used pro format.

You can run it over coax and terminate with BNCs. Speak with an installer about interfacing it however cause I'd guess you want more than just one compatible source to go to the projector down the road.
