I'm trying to calibrate my speakers (7.1, Paradigm ADP-370's) using the Avia dvd and in one of the first tests they go through each speaker to make sure they are all working properly. The problem I am having is the right and left surround are being played by my front left and right speakers. I can't hear anything out of the side and rear surrounds:( I know they are hooked up properly and work during everything else (music and movies).
What listening mode should the receiver be set for? I have it currently set for Dolby Pro Logic 2 cinema. I'm using a Denon 3806 receiver also.

Thanks

The receiver needs to be "set" to Dolby Digital 5.1, NOT Dolby Pro Logic. It should autodetect this input.

You DO have a digital connection (optical or coax) from the player to the receiver, correct? And your player IS setup correctly to send digital information via this connection, correct?
