Problem with Onkyo receiver. Need Help!

So my gf just moved in and I hooked up her Onkyo HT-SR600 HTIB system with the HT-R340 receiver. Everything was working fine with one optical cable running from the TV's audio out to the receiver. After the first few hours of watching the speakers all emitted about 5 seconds of loud static and now none of them produce any type of audio output whatsoever!

I have tried resetting the receiver according to the manual and it doesn't seem to make any difference. All of the speaker cables are hooked up correctly and I have checked and double checked all connections. I tried to use an old red white cable to see if the optical cable was defective and I get no output from that either.

What is odd is that when playing around with some of the settings on the receiver. For instance turning on speaker set A, a repetitive clicking noise will emit from the receiver itself. This doesn't happen every time, but every few times. It is incredibly odd.

Any help would be supremely appreciated!!!

I would check the fusing first and after that if no solution, a new avr as I can't imagine it would be cost effective to repair.

Onkyo Ht R340

I have the ONKYO HT R340 receiver which has served my needs adequately.... It works fine when using analog audio inputs...

However, when I try to use the 5.1 feature thru dolby digital either optical/coaxial... the sound would cut out after 30 mins or less. I assume that heat buildup is causing this. I have 6 inches clearance on top with a laptop cooling pad on the top surface that seems to help but still results in the digital audio cutting out... This is annoying as I feel that I have a dolby pro logic receiver from the 90s if I can't even use digital inputs.

Anyone else have this problem with their Onkyo? Any ideas for improvements?

Thank you!!!
